The TRMR App open on an iPhone, showing the Learn tab with a guide to understanding tremor.

This is not medical advice. The TRMR App is an educational tool. It does not diagnose, it does not measure or rate your tremor, and nothing in it replaces an evaluation by a physician. Its whole purpose is to help you understand your situation and get to a clinician who can actually examine you. If you may be having a medical emergency, call 911.

What’s inside

Everything in the app is reading, written in plain language and backed by published sources you can check.

Conditions, explained plainly

Essential tremor, Parkinson’s disease, dystonic tremor, drug-induced tremor and others — what each one is, which parts of the body it tends to affect, and what a doctor looks for.

Treatments, start to finish

From watchful waiting and medication through focused ultrasound and deep brain stimulation. What each option does, who it tends to suit, and the questions worth asking first.

The path to specialist care

The referral steps in order, from primary care to a movement disorder specialist to a surgical evaluation — and what to bring to each.

Prepare for your visit

Answer a plain-language questionnaire and the app organizes it into a summary you can bring to your appointment, so the details you meant to mention don’t get lost in the room.

How people use it

The app is built around one goal: getting you in front of a clinician who can actually examine you, better prepared than you would have been.

  1. Learn what tremor is Start with the common causes and what distinguishes them, so the words in your appointment aren’t new to you.
  2. Note what you’re experiencing Answer a plain-language questionnaire about when it happens, what makes it better or worse, and what you’ve already tried.
  3. Take a summary with you The app organizes your answers into a PDF you can print or email yourself. It never sends it anywhere on its own.
  4. Find somewhere to be seen Browse academic movement disorder programs near you, and read what to expect from a first visit.

Your information stays on your phone

We never receive your health information. Your questionnaire answers, your drawings, and the summary built from them are stored on your iPhone and are never sent to us. There is no account, and there is nothing to sign in to.

If you want a clinician to have your summary, you print it or send it yourself, to someone you choose. Deleting the app deletes it all.

Read the Privacy Policy for the details, including the carve-outs most policies leave out.

For medical centers

The directory lists U.S. academic programs treating movement disorders, compiled from public information. A listing is not a referral, an endorsement, or a paid placement.

If your program is listed and something is wrong, or you’d like to talk about a partnership, email admin@whosinlabs.com and we’ll get it corrected.
